Go back to the Raw Data tab to view the raw data in real time. Select the Setup category and then the Connection tab. When the first code recurs, all codes have been read. Verify that there is a green check mark next to the Always Collect data button. If a code other than 1-1-1 is obtained, write it down and press the button again to see if there are more. They're expecting it in 1 to 3 weeks, depending one where one is. If code 1-1-1 is read, there are no stored fault codes. They scanned it and found the B1312 code. I saw a mention in the above article that CAN bus is in cars from 2008 on, so maybe? I'll have to check if my $20 eBay Chinese OBD to BlueTooth adapter can communicate with CAN bus over the OBD port. Now for ABS MIL and SRS(last I checked this trick worked for the srs codes to) codes those are a little bit trickier to pull cause they do not show up on the scanner unless you take it to the stealership and pay for it.

I didn't think this car had CAN bus, but I'm just starting working on it. Ok so first off if you have an engine code or CEL/MIL advancded auto parts or Autozone will read it for free if you bring it to them. I ran the abbreviated extended PID scan and it completed, but all I saw were CAN bus errors. I ran the ***long*** extended PID scan, and gave up on it doing anything useful after 4 hours. Autozones reader is also only good for 'P' codes. I tried finding them using Torque Scan, the plugin for the Torque mobile app. O2 sensor codes usually indicate a vacuum leak or a bad sensor upstream:/ Ive got a good bluetooth dongle that plugs into the obd2 connector and use the 'Torque' app on my droid to read/clear/monitor PIDs. They're part of the Extended PIDs, and aren't part of the OBDII spec for the ECM.įor more OBD info than you probably want at one time: According to the Service Manual (IIRC), the codes are accessed through the OBD port under the steering wheel.
